With frequent trips to England for my job, I’ve taken advantage of the cheap flights to Ireland a few times, so when $99 one way flights to Dublin
were announced, I knew I had to go but I also wanted to explore a bit more. Though I based most of my trip on the west coast in Galway, I spend two days in my new favorite Dublin suburb, Howth (Don’t ask me how to pronounce it; I swear everyone says it differently.)
Located about a 30 minute commute from the city, Howth is very accessible. Take the Luas from Heuston station to Connolly Station, before transfering to the Dart Howth route. Stop for a pint at The Bloody Stream once you arrive. Dinner at Crabby Joe’s is a must for the seafood chowder, and finalize your night at The Brass Monkey.
Seaside cliffs in Ireland are magnificent, and Howth is not lacking at all. My hike along the cliff trail was so beautiful, until I was nervous I’d fall off and never be found as a #solotraveler!
